Why UK Patients Travel

Before You Leave the UK
Have a diagnosis and any gum treatment done at home first — travelling to have periodontitis investigated wastes your trip. Ask your dentist for current radiographs, digitally, and take your treatment plan with you.
List your medications and doses, including anticoagulants and bisphosphonates. Tell the clinic about diabetes, heart valve conditions, sleep apnoea and smoking. A clinic that never asks is not planning.
The Two-Trip Reality
Crowns, veneers and whitening: one trip, five to seven days, including a try-in appointment. Implants: two trips, separated by 3–6 months of osseointegration — and up to nine months if grafting is needed.

What You Must Bring Home
Your treatment record. The implant brand, model and batch number, or an implant passport. The ceramic and abutment materials. Every radiograph, digitally — not photographed off a screen. The warranty, with its exclusions. A named contact and expected response times.
Without brand and batch data, your UK dentist cannot order matching components if an abutment or screw fails in ten years — and an otherwise healthy implant may have to be removed. See implant brands.
Aftercare and Recourse
Routine reviews, cleaning and emergency re-cementation can be done by any UK dentist, provided they have your records. Establish in writing, before treatment, who assesses a failure remotely, whether a local dentist may stabilise it and be reimbursed, and who pays for a return flight if the definitive repair must be done in Türkiye.
