Why the Gap Is So Large

Continuity of care. The person who treated you sees you at six months and again at a year.
Regulatory recourse. Complaints, oversight and second opinions sit inside one system and one language. Pursuing a concern across borders is harder; if that weighs on you, consider it before booking and take proper advice.
Emergency access. If a crown debonds on a Tuesday, a local dentist can re-cement it. That is why you must take your records home.
When Staying at Home Is the Better Decision
When the diagnosis is uncertain and needs investigation over time. When you have advanced periodontitis that requires months of supervised treatment before anything can be built. When your medical history is complex — anticoagulants, bisphosphonates, poorly controlled diabetes, recent radiotherapy.
And when you know, honestly, that you will not attend the follow-up. Implants and crowns fail slowly and silently. Somebody has to look at them every six months.
How to Compare Without Fooling Yourself
Compare the same treatment: implant brand and model, prosthesis material, number of appointments, and whether a try-in exists. Then add flights and accommodation for both trips, time off work twice, a possible bone graft, a night guard, and a contingency for one revision.
