Keep your length with a non-shaven DHI approach.
In a long hair transplant the grafts are not shaved – the advantage is visual and discreet.
A long-hair transplant uses DHI to implant without shaving, so your existing length stays intact.
Ideal for those who prefer discretion and have small to medium needs. See unshaven transplant and the full guide.
In long-hair FUE (unshaven technique with long hair) the extracted and placed grafts are not trimmed. The big advantage is visual: the result is immediately easier to picture, and daily life afterwards is more discreet.
The long hairs on the grafts still fall out during shock loss in week 2–6, as in any transplant. So the “instant effect” lasts only a few weeks; then the regular course begins, with new growth from month 3–4 and the final result at 12–18 months. Technically it is more demanding and usually limited to smaller sessions.
For smaller procedures, for patients who prefer not to appear shaved, and for densification between existing hair. For large areas with high graft counts, classic shaved FUE is more practical. See unshaven and discretion and shock loss explained.
