Why US Patients Travel
US dental plans typically carry a low annual maximum, so implants and full-arch work are usually paid out of pocket regardless of coverage. Combined with high practice overheads, the price gap with Türkiye is wider than for any European country. See Türkiye vs the USA.

Before You Leave the United States
Have a diagnosis and any gum treatment done at home first — travelling to have periodontitis investigated wastes your trip. Ask your dentist for current radiographs, digitally, and take your treatment plan with you.
List your medications and doses, including anticoagulants and bisphosphonates. Tell the clinic about diabetes, heart valve conditions, sleep apnoea and smoking. A clinic that never asks is not planning.
Distance Changes the Maths
Implants require two trips separated by 3–6 months. From the US that means two long-haul journeys and two periods of time off work. Build both in honestly before comparing with a domestic quote.

What You Must Bring Home
Your treatment record. The implant brand, model and batch number, or an implant passport. The ceramic and abutment materials. Every radiograph, digitally — not photographed off a screen. The warranty, with its exclusions. A named contact and expected response times.
Without brand and batch data, your US dentist cannot order matching components if an abutment or screw fails in ten years — and an otherwise healthy implant may have to be removed. See implant brands.
Insurance, Records and Follow-Up
Check whether your plan reimburses any out-of-country care, and what documentation it requires. Many do not reimburse at all; assumptions here are expensive. Ask your insurer in writing before travelling.
Confirm before booking that the implant system is a brand stocked in the United States. Established systems are; unbranded ones frequently are not. Then register the work with a US dentist for six-monthly review. See the guarantee.
