Leg liposuction removes stubborn fat deposits on the inner and outer thighs, knees and calves that persist despite diet and exercise. The aim is a harmonious leg contour – not weight loss. Good skin elasticity matters so the skin retracts after removal.
When it makes sense – and when not
Suitable for localised fat pads at a stable weight. With pronounced skin laxity a thigh lift may also be needed. Important: lipoedema (a painful fat-distribution disorder) is different from cosmetic fat and must first be medically assessed – it follows its own treatment rules.
Risks and limits
The usual liposuction risks apply: bruising, seromas, contour irregularities, temporary numbness and – rarely but seriously – a thrombosis. On the legs, even extraction matters because irregularities are especially visible here. Compression and early mobilisation lower the risk.

Procedure and anaesthetic
Depending on the extent, the procedure is done under general anaesthetic or sedation and takes about 1–2 hours. Through small incisions, fine cannulas remove fat so the scars stay inconspicuous.
