Per-graft pricing explained vs all-inclusive packages.
Hair transplant cost per graft is the wrong metric – it rewards removing more grafts than is medically sensible.
Understanding cost per graft helps you compare quotes — but package pricing is usually better value.
In Turkey the effective per-graft cost is low within an all-inclusive package. See the cost guide.
A per-graft price sounds transparent. In practice it creates an incentive to remove more grafts than is medically sensible, shifting the decision from the indication to the invoice. Donor hair does not grow back: 4,000–8,000 usable grafts for life, safely harvestable only 40–50% of capacity. Paying per graft is paying someone to empty that account.
A graft is a follicular unit of usually 1–3 hairs – not one hair. Some providers count in hairs, which triples the number and visually lowers the per-unit price. Ask: do you count grafts or hairs? Is counting documented during surgery? Do I get it in writing?
Whether the doctor opens the channels and sets the hairline. How many patients they operate on that day. How short the grafts’ ischemia time is. Whether transection rate is measured. These four decide the 90–95% survival rate – not the per-unit price. See where cheap becomes dangerous.
Not “what does a graft cost” but: “how many grafts do I need – and how many will you leave me for later?” A clinic that gives a reasoned number has examined you. One that only quotes a unit price has calculated you.
All prices are indicative market ranges for orientation and do not constitute a quotation. A binding price is set only after a medical examination.

A graft is a unit of 1–3 hairs; some count in hairs to triple the number. What matters is whether the count is set after the examination, not before.
The real question: how many grafts do I need, and how many are left for later?
