Reducing a high forehead

Who it suits
Suitable mainly for people with a high but stable hairline and good scalp mobility – often women. With progressive, hereditary hair loss the procedure is usually unsuitable: if the line moves forward and hair falls behind it, you get a visible problem and a scar. Then a hair transplant is the more flexible route.
The scar as a trade-off
A fine scar remains along the new hairline, usually hidden by the hair. Some centres later place single-hair grafts in front of the scar to camouflage it and make the line irregular – therefore natural. The procedure is usually under general anaesthetic.
Healing and alternatives
