Upper eyelid surgery removes excess lid skin – the incision sits in the lid crease and is barely visible.
Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin from the upper eyelid and opens the gaze for a more alert, youthful look.

Often with lower blepharoplasty or both.
Swelling settles in 1–2 weeks; fine scar in the crease.
Upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) removes excess skin – and if needed a little fat – from the upper lid. Sagging upper lids make the gaze look tired and, in pronounced cases, can even restrict the field of vision. Then the procedure is functional, not just aesthetic.
The procedure is usually under local anaesthetic (possibly with sedation) and takes about 30–60 minutes. The incision sits in the natural lid crease and is barely visible after healing. The effect on a fresh, awake expression is often marked.
Drooping upper lids can also come from a sagging eyebrow or – rarely – a lid-lifting weakness (ptosis). These need different treatment (a brow lift or ptosis correction). An examination clarifies what is actually present, so the wrong problem is not operated on.
Cooling and elevation in the first days, stitches removed after about a week. Swelling and bruising settle over 1–2 weeks. Dry or irritated eyes can occur temporarily. See lower eyelid surgery and cosmetic surgery in Turkey.
